Oct 11 – The Priest

October 11, 2011 by Beardoh

Got a slightly later start as we wanted to wait for daylight to hit before we started walking the rock ledge that we had camped nearby.

Rain threatened for most of the day, but we never got too wet. Some of the rocks got wet making for some slippery walking.

The 20 miles was tough today….at the end we thought there was a campsite before beginning a fairly long climb, but we never found it and ended up heading up a mountain called The Priest, which is a long steady ascent.

Luckily after a couple miles on the climb, we came to a saddle and we were able to stealth camp there.

Pretty tired now….Mace gave us each a Snickers, which was a wonderful end to the day.

Daily Distance: 20
Trip Distance: 1,356.7
