Hard day of hiking today. It felt like the eastern/southern Maine section of the AT. Steep ascents, and descents plus the worst mosquitoes we have experienced on the trail (maybe ever). Also, the detours around the blowdowns had their own detours because new blowdowns have fell in the detours. Tough day to push for 27 miles, but we made it to where we wanted to camp by 6:30. Still beautiful sites, mountain lakes and the great Sierra vistas…just pooped after today in a way that I have not been in a while.
Saw lots of hikers on the trail today: Maple, Desert Fox, Masa, Freebird, Wampus, Zen, Ruffwork, Curly, Fish. Once in camp, we saw Texas Chillin, Banana Pants, Just Retired, and Busted Magic.
Qball caught enough fish for another fishboil, so we had that at dinner. He caught about 9 trout within a half hour or so.
Short entry…..need to sleep.
