Today’s entry is for yesterday and today.
Got out and rolling pretty quick by 6 yesterday….and made our 18 miles to Stevens Pass by 1:30. Saw a lot of weekenders while we walked in, including a couple that we had met a week ago who are hoping to thru hike the PCT in a couple years.
Picked some blue and huckleberries on the way in. Took some breaks at a couple of the lakes that we passed by. This was a real pretty stretch, although it was quite rugged and steep in areas.
We got into Stevens Pass and Sweet Pea was there waiting for us with soda, cookies and chips. She drove us down to the Dinsmores, where I picked up my package and then we headed up to Skykomish where we stayed at the motel.

Slept in a bit today and had late breakfast at the diner at the motel.
Got back on the trail around one after picking up sandwiches to go from the deli. It was a pretty interesting scene there with about 75 bikers from a motorcycle club all meeting up at the deli.
Trail was pretty nice headed out of the pass. A decent amount of climbing, but it was well graded. Got some views of Glacier Peak, and the surrounding craggy mountains. There was a pretty mountain top that had a meadow and wildflowers on the top.
Tonight we are camped at a site which is right on the trail with our shelters set up on either side. It is the four of us and RockStove, a hiker that I met for the first time today. Did about 16 miles this afternoon. Qball got shin splints this afternoon, hopefully he won’t have a problem with them coming up in this last section.
