Another overcast day with cool temperatures for the climbs. We got our usual start, although Mace, Mike, and Tom were all ready really early and had to wait for us to get ready.
We had quite a bit of rocky downhill in the morning and then a very long series of switchbacks up just before noon. The cooler temperatures really helped on the uphill.
When we were headed to our lunch spot, we felt a few raindrops and decided to put up our tarp and eat lunch. It was good timing, as the rain started and continued for several hours, quite heavy at times. We ended up staying put under the tarp for over two hours. To help pass the time, we played the name game which was pretty fun. We even had another hiker, Jake, ask to join us under the tarp and he played with us for over an hour.
Once the rain finally let up to just a mist, we headed out the last four or so miles to our campsite. We are camped at a pretty cool spot tonight alongside a waterfall. Hopefully we will have nice weather tomorrow morning, so I can get some nice photos. We didn’t take any photos today…not much for views in the morning, and then rain in the afternoon. We are all in bed by 7:00, as it continues to mist.
