Beautiful views all day long. In the AM, we walked through craggy rock formations in the morning light. Lots of flowers in bloom as well. Mid day, the walking was getting down near some ponds and lakes. The latter part of the day was up high on a ridge that we had seen in the morning, called The Nipple. Wide open views of lakes far below us while we walked through a dry, but still grassy and sandy area along a ridge. Despite being very exposed and having blue skies, the temperature was excellent and we had a nice breeze when on the ridge and in the open areas.
Despite leaving after 7am, and taking some long breaks during the day, we arrived at the aimed-for mileage by 5pm. We were able to clean up, meditate, toss some frisby, all before dinner.
By 8pm, everyone we are camped with is already in bed. We are camped with Weta, Tip Toe, Lid, XC, Mtn Man, Gazelle, Dream Catcher and Proton.
Tomorrow am, we hope to receive some trail magic at Carson Pass. Some Southbound hikers had given us the trail intel that someone planned to be there over the weekend into the 4th, so we are hopeful. Word on the street is that they have been giving hikers cheesecake 🙂
Today is our 2 month anniversary on the trail!
