Thrilled to have had a great summer on the PCT this summer! For Beardoh, it was a return to a much loved trail he hiked in 2012. Sweet Pea’s appetite for the western mountains was wetted in 2014 with the JMT/TRT/WT series we did, and this summer gave us a whole summer of great walking from Mexico to Canada. Curating our favorite PCT photos into a select few has been difficult.

OUR FAVORITE PCT PHOTOS
All of our photos can be seen throughout the various pages of our journal. Since we enjoy taking a quick look at the photos now and then, we’ve put them up here so others can enjoy in a quick glance.
Rather than narrow down our photos into a group of 25 photos for the whole trail, we have decided to do batches by section.
Southern California PCT Photos
The first 700 miles of the PCT, from the California/Mexico Border to Kennedy Meadows is largely regarded as a desert. However true that may be, it is a fairly diverse section of trail. High altitudes are reached, the weather can be both hot and cold. The diversity of flora is great and in season when most hikers are passing through. Plus, it is the beginning of the journey!
