Fell asleep last night while looking up at the stars. Temps were perfect for sleeping. I really like cowboy camping…breeze flowing, staring at the sky, good stuff.
We got our early start this am. On the trail by 4:30. First time hiking in the dark on this trip. Was nice to be walking when the sun came up. Walked quite a while in a burnt area of the trail, and then for hours amongst the wind turbines.
Not much besides bunnies for wildlife, but a couple girls saw a mountain lion about two miles from our camp last night.
It was a tough hitch into Mojave, where we were headed for resupply. There were 6 of us, lots of cars passing by, but a lot of company cars that probably have rules against picking up. We finally got picked up by a truck and sat in the back with the fifth wheel. It was a very windy ride at 60 miles per hour riding in the back.
In Mojave, we got fueled up, cleaned up and ready to roll for the next section.
