Had a good night of sleep despite there being a lot of campers in our area of the park (Yosemite). We got up fairly early so we could hit the breakfast buffet in the village. The buffet was good and we had our fill even though we only had about 45 minutes to eat before our bus left to head up to Tuolmne.
The bus ride was quite good. It takes a couple hours to climb the mountains and get back to Tuolmne Meadows. The driver spoke the entire ride about the park history, land features and animals in the park.
I picked up my Maildrop at the Post office in the meadows and hung out with a couple other hikers, Cristo and Quest. Just before leaving, my friend Goldfish showed up in the parking lot. What a great surpise! Sweetpea and I had met her on the AT last year and hiked with her for the last three weeks of the trail. She was up doing some rock climbing in the area. Great when paths cross like this!
After catching up with Goldfish, I headed back out on the PCT at about 1:30 and caught up to my gang. We had very good hiking for the 14 miles that we did for the day. Walking through more meadows as well as over some rock features and also by a petty spectacular waterfall.
I could feel a lot of stiffness and soreness in my leg muscles today. Probably as a result of the steep downhill into the valley from Half Dome yesterday, as well as from being fairly tense coming down the descent on the actual dome part of half dome.
Tonight we are camping at a river intersection with Zen and Wampus cat. Great to see them again and hopefully we will be at the same pace and get to spend more time with them over the next new days.
