Got a great ride out of Etna. White Jeep, who is driving along the trail as his wife , Seminal, hikes the PCT, was staying at the motel where we took our zero and he offered us a ride back up to the trail. We had 12 people in the cab of his pickup, and the bed of the pickup full of packs. It looked a little like a clown car when we got out at the top. The four of us, Train, Sista Sue, T1, K8, Backwoods, Heart and Gone Fishing were all packed in.
Pretty wonderful weather today. Mid 60s up in the mountains, and occasional clouds giving us some shade. A bit of up and down, but nothing too drastic. Some of the views were every similar to that of the Smokey Mtns. Walked along quite a bit of wild flowers as well.
Camped tonight with Malarky and Train near a cabin that was built many years ago. It is all boarded up so we didn’t go in…not sure if it is a forest service ranger cabin or somebody else’s. The deer are already coming into camp to check this out. They are a bit too fearless. We have already chased them off a couple times.
