Another perfect weather day. Up by 6 and walking by 6:30
Went over Pinchot pass before seeing any other hikers. Pretty gradual up
Caught up to horse crew that apparently was carrying for a group of tourists from Japan. Hard to get around horses, as they do nothing to let you pass. Ultimately I cut a couple switch backs down a rock slab and got ahead of them and stayed ahead.
Less people after crossing the suspension bridge yesterday. Just JMT AND PCT hikers.
With the two passes, I kept up a pretty quick pace all day and never took a long break.
Passed several places that brought back memories. 2 break spots, the top of Mather Pass where SweetPea and I took our 2016 holiday photo, break spot at a trail junction. Seeing these places and remembering times with SweetPea and friends makes me pretty happy.
Into camp right at 6, which gives me an hour to setup, wash up, massage my legs and hop into my hammock before dark….basically at 7. It seems like a long night to be in bed, but my hammock is so comfy that I don’t mind it at all.
