Daily Miles – 22
6 o’clock start today.
Occurred to me that this is the wrong direction to hike for this reason – too many people stop to talk, while some are very interesting, others – not so much. I think I was hoping for a few less people on the trail. It probably would have felt that way hiking south bound. This sounds like a complaint, but it is more of a surprise than anything else.
Great weather, blue skies again.
While Forester Pass is the highest on the entire PCT, it is actually quite an easy climb while hiking northbound. The approach is very gradual, and when it is finally time to hike up to the pass, it is over quickly. Great switchbacks and grade.
Camped at Upper Vidette Meadow….which is not really a Meadow. Got in at 5, plenty of time to wash everything and read a bit in an investing book on options that is putting me to sleep.
