Day started with a healthy climb up from Kincora in the dark. Got great sunrise over the mountains as we made it to the ridge around daybreak.
Todays walking was largely rolling terrain around the ridges. Blue skies all day long.
Had lunch with two of the new-to-us southbounders, Ryan and Clay.
Walked pretty hard and steady all day and it was a good thing as we made it to the hostel just as the rain was starting. We had not planned to stay at a hostel, but there is a rumour of a homeless guy staying out at the next shelter and we didn’t want to deal with him or move on to the next campsite since we had already walked so hard today. The hostel is full so we will be staying in the storage part of their barn which isn’t heated, but that will be fine for us.
Today has been our longest day so far. Tomorrow we head back up over 5000 feet.
