Good but long day today…
Started the day with a stellar breakfast at our B&B. Typically we wouldn’t be staying at a B&B, but they are similar to the price of many of the hostels in this part of the country.
Went to the outfitter and Sweet Pea got new shoes. Her old ones had a lot of long holes in the upper and were pretty close to having a major blowout. We ran into some folks who were staying at the B&B with us the night before, and they offered us a ride up to the spot where we had gotten off yesterday. It is quite a distance up, so we were particularly fortunate. If you are reading….thanks guys!
Started off hiking in the snow. The ice and snow were beautiful on the trees with the blue skies in the background.
Within a couple hours we were off the highlands and below the snowline. Spent most of the day rolling up and down the mountains, but generally going down.
Because of wanting to eat the breakfast included with our room and look for new shoes, we had a pretty late start of 11 this morning…and wanted to get into town by dark. We barely made it….but we did.
Saw a couple hikers and a group of boy scouts, but far fewer people than yesterday.
Somewhat cool today, but gorgeous. Blue skies are wonderful!
