Wind continued all night long and into the morning. I stayed warm enough, thankfully.
The first few hours hiking were some of the coldest we have had. The wind was strong and made it very cold. I wore my rain jacket and winter hat till around 10am to stay warm while hiking. The views were great, but I only got one photo as my battery on my phone was reading as dead because of the cold.
We had a long descent down to get water where we stopped for lunch. After eating, we regained all of the elevation in one of the steeper climbs that we have had on the trail. We had lunch with Garden Gnome and leapfrogged with him for the afternoon. Came across a father and son that were out section hiking, and a new to us through hiker named Stacy.
Tonight we are camped at a closed campground with 4 other through hikers…no water at the campground itself, but there is a picnic bench at our site. Wind has died down so we will cowboy camp.
