With only downhill miles to go, our six miles to Cumbres Pass went quite quickly. We made it to the road in just over two hours.
There were surprisingly few cars on the road and we waited minutes between cars. Even with such low traffic, we only waited a half hour before getting a ride into Chama.
Our first stop in town was a restaurant for breakfast. We got a strong reminder that we are now in New Mexico when basically everything on the menu included hatch chilies.
Beardoh is happy to have almost a whole day of relaxing in town. His stomach is still not great, but at least he didn’t have to walk far today.
