Last night was somewhat eventful at the KOA. Woke up at 2:30 to some crazy sounds. There apparently is a rescue center for big cats, including Michael Jacksons tigers. The noises sounded like they were mating. Additionally there were racoons fighting and a coyote…all within feet of where the 14 of us were cowboy camping.
We got walking around 6:30. Morning was beautiful walking as usual. Saw some neat water erosion formations night next to the trail…cut outs from long ago when there was high floods.
We got into Agua Dulce around 9:15. The hostel here is at the Saufleys. It is a well oiled machine that they run. There are about 50+ hikers here. They have giant tents with cots for all to sleep in. Showers, computers, WiFi, a piano, guitars….etc.. it isn’t truly a hostel, it is all by donation.
Got a ride to REI and picked up some Injinji toe socks. Hoping these will solve some blister issues they i have had. Had my first In and Out burger experience…it is as good as people say.
